Meet the Expert: Sarah Skebba, zoologist and creator of edZOOcating.com
Sarah is a self-proclaimed animal expert with a background in wildlife biology and zoo and aquarium work. Her passion for animals started at a very young age thanks to incredible picture books like Stellaluna and Verdi by Janell Cannon. As a student, she was able to explore opportunities in field studies working with Shedd Aquarium’s Bahamian rock iguana study and Arizona State University’s reptile physiology lab where she worked with diamondback rattlesnakes. Both of these experiences furthered her interest in working with not just reptiles, but all animals, and led to her to roles at zoos and aquariums. She quickly learned that wildlife and environmental education was where she felt most at home and, when COVID hit and zoos shut down, Sarah took her passions virtual with EdZOOcating. Today, she works full time with EdZOOcating to educate kids and adults all around the world about animals, their habitats, and how we can all do our part to protect them.
